Downtown La Jolla, CA
Designed by a doctor
Sessions are programmed by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic — meaning every movement, sequence, and progression is informed by clinical training in anatomy, biomechanics, and how bodies actually heal.
Always one-on-one
No group classes, no shared equipment, no being lost in the back of a 12-person reformer studio. Your full session, your full body, full attention from your instructor.
Built to layer with care
Pilates Private pairs naturally with chiropractic care — but it also works on its own. Whether you're rehabbing, building strength, or just trying to feel better in your body, this is for you.
What it is
Movement that actually changes things.
Reformer Pilates is one of the most respected and evidence-supported movement methods in the world — but it's only as good as the eye guiding it.
The reformer is a precise piece of equipment — a sliding carriage, a system of springs, ropes, and pulleys — designed to load the body in ways that strengthen muscles while protecting joints. It's used in physical therapy clinics, professional sports rehab, and high-end studios worldwide for one reason: it works.
What makes Pilates Private at Balanced by V different is who's running the session. Dr. Verónica brings the same clinical eye she uses for chiropractic exams — assessing how you move, where you compensate, what's tight, what's underutilized — and uses the reformer to build a program that targets exactly what your body needs. Classical, contemporary, and functional movement, blended for the right body at the right time. No recycled routines — it's built for you, in real time, every visit.
"The reformer doesn't fix you. It teaches you. My job is to be the eye that connects what your body's doing to what your body needs."

Your session
What 45 minutes actually looks like.
Every Pilates Private follows a flexible four-part rhythm — shaped around what your body needs that day.
Check-in
A quick conversation about how you're feeling, what's working, and what's tight or tender from the week. Sets the focus for the session.
Warm-up
Movement-prep to wake up the right muscles, mobilize joints, and connect breath to movement. Often the most important 10 minutes.
Programmed work
The core of the session — strength, mobility, control, and balance work on the reformer, customized to your body and goals.
Integration
Cool-down work that locks in what you just learned. You leave with one or two simple things to take into your week.
Who it's for
Honestly? Everyone.
Sessions are tailored to you — not a one-size-fits-all program. Whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic pain, training for a sport, or just want to move better, the work meets you where you are.
Post-injury recovery
Returning from a back injury, surgery, or long pain pattern. Pilates rebuilds strength without re-loading what's already tender.
Athletes & weekend warriors
Runners, surfers, lifters, climbers — Pilates fixes the small things your sport overuses, and unlocks the things it underuses.
Long pain patterns
Back pain, neck pain, hip tightness that's been around for years. Pilates teaches the body to move differently — often what finally moves the needle.
Office & desk workers
Forward head, rounded shoulders, tight hips, weak glutes. Pilates undoes the day, then teaches your body better posture habits.
Anyone who wants to move better
You don't need a diagnosis or an injury. If you want to move with more ease, strength, or confidence — you're in the right place.

Common questions
Reformer Pilates, answered.
Yes — reformer Pilates is one of the most effective movement methods for back pain, because the spring-loaded carriage builds core and back strength without compressing the spine. I program each session around what your back actually needs, and many of my chiropractic patients use reformer work as the bridge from pain relief to lasting strength.
A private 45-minute reformer session at Balanced by V is $110. A five-session package is $515 ($103 per session) and a ten-session package is $1,020 ($102 per session). HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
No — every session is one-on-one and built around your level. Your first visit starts with a movement assessment, and I teach the reformer from zero. Most new clients feel comfortable on the equipment within one session.
Pilates on its own is generally not covered by health insurance, but HSA and FSA cards are accepted and packages reduce the per-session cost. If you have questions about combining Pilates with insured chiropractic care, just ask.
